yesterday morning i got my tooth implant. it was much less of an ordeal than i expected, which was nice. i am glad that i got an iv and was knocked out, instead of lots of local anesthesia & being awake. i didn't really want that memory.
i felt nervous before the iv kicked in because it's weird to think about how something/a drug can make you go go to "sleep." i was sitting there thinking, "i am tired, but awake and soon i will be unconscious and will wake up when it's done. huh." and you try to imagine and recount for the time you are going to be unconscious, but that is impossible.
"recovery" is quiet alright. when i came to, i complained about the soggy, wet thing in my mouth - which was gauze, ha. i didn't make much sense, of course and was ungrateful about being awoken. the implant doesn't hurt much, just some pressure here and there through out the day.
my jaw and teeth adventures will soon be over, hur-rah! i cross my fingers.
